About
Albert Słowiński is a documentary photographer whose practice focuses on long term, socially engaged projects. His work explores human stories shaped by place, culture and political realities. Albert is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Photography at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, Poland. He graduated from his Bachelor’s studies with the highest distinction and received a scholarship from the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage in recognition of his artistic achievements. His work has been widely presented and recognized both in Poland and internationally, including exhibitions and presentations in London and South Korea.
Among his most notable achievements are the Award of Excellence in the Local News Picture Story category at the 83rd Pictures of the Year International competition, finalist of the Sony World Photography Awards 2025 and 2026, First Prize at Grand Press Photo 2025, First Prize in the Reportage category at the 20th National Geographic Polska Grand Photo Contest 2024, finalist of the World Report Award | Documenting Humanity 2025 and the Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant 2024. He has also participated in the Eddie Adams Work shop and the New York Portfolio Review 2025. In the coming years he plans to further develop documentary projects addressing social, political and climate related issues in Poland and internationally. He collaborates with editors of international magazines.
